What is there not to like about Kate Upton?
Kate Upton grew up in Florida. Her great-grandfather co-founded the Whirlpool Corporation. Her mother was a high school tennis champion in Texas. And she rode horses while attending the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy.
She wasn’t always gorgeous.
Kate says before she hit her teenage years, she “begged” for a woman’s body.
“When I first started modelling, I was a normal catalog model,” Upton recently told The Daily Caller. “Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits,” Upton said.
“It’s a different view of beauty (growing up in Florida.) You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, ‘Yessss!’”
Donald Trump offered her a modeling contract at the age of 12. A few years later, she signed with another New York agency.
But she had to wait until 2011 to get her big break. That’s when Upton was named the “Rookie of the Year,” in the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Then she hit stardom when she was awarded cover model in both 2012 and 2013.
Currently 23 years old, Upton has dated Cy Young Award winning pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, Justin Verlander.
